Crewel.

Happy Friday, everyone! I am looking forward to the weekend.

In case you were wondering, we did indeed go to Long John Silver's for dinner last night. This one is extra special because it's half Long John Silver's, half Taco Bell. Swanky. After listening to N. telling us over and over he wanted to go to "Fish Ahoy," we finally went. What did N. have for dinner after all of that? Two tacos from the Taco Bell half. Figures.

While I was at my mom's she gave me my finished Crewelwork piece!

Here are some details.

And the complete piece.

This was from a kit by Elsa Williams. I love how Mom wrapped her signature "Luv U, Mom 2008" around the flower stems. Now the piece just needs to be framed.

I sometimes think I'd like to learn how to do crewelwork. At one point I was going to buy a kit by Sue Hawkins, but never did. Maybe one day...

I saw on the news this morning that we could be getting a foot of snow on Sunday. I hope that's not the case; there's nowhere left to put the shoveled snow around here!

I had to comment here too! I collect crewel. I have over 250 pieces. You can sorta see some of them in the pics of my craft room on my blog. My whole house is pretty much covered in crewel work. I think it's the most fantastic and beautiful work there is. Your mom did a truly lovely job on this.. you can tell she really took her time on it. You are going to think this is funny.. I actually have that piece myself (and it's not nearly as nice as what your mom did). Small world!
