Yesterday was a nice day, if a little bit chilly. We took advantage of the nice weather by being outside most of the day.
We did a lot of reading outside. N is convinced dragons are real after we bought Dragonology for him. He dug out his stuffed animal dragons and poured over this book most of the day.
Our neighborhood received a visit from the snowplows yesterday. The mailboxes were not put in properly and they are going around checking them and talking to residents. They also let kids climb into the snowplows.
N was thrilled that the driver offered him a ride up and down the street. He was allowed to honk the horn and push buttons to make the back of the truck go up and down.
My birthday today has been very nice! N gave me a card that he made. It said, "Dear Mommy, I love you so so much. Love, N." Makes my heart melt.
Since I'm not a big fan of cake, this year I decided to make what I wanted: apple crisp!
Mark and N took me to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants.
Tomorrow I'll share an Etsy shop (where one of my birthday gifts came from) with you. I have other birthday goodies to share this week, too!
Thanks for all your very nice birthday wishes. It made my birthday even better!

Happy Birthday! It sounds as if you had a great day. Which restaurant is your favorite? (By the way, Dragonology is one of the books that inspired my Dragon Eye pendant - my mother-in-law used it as a reference book when she made a dragon painting for my son's nursery. She gave the book to him afterwards. He doesn't get much of it at his age but he likes looking at the pictures.)
Hi Melissa,
We went to Fuego in Arlington Heights. Have you ever been there? Delicious Mexican food! Last night I had one of the specials. I didn't realize it would be so hot. It was delicious, but I think my mouth is still on fire this morning!
That is so cool that N got to ride around in the snow plow!
Yay - applecrisp! Glad you had what you wanted on your birthday! : D
Okay, wait a minute...you're not a fan of cake? This is serious.
I'm going to need some time to get over this.
I think that's so cool about the snow plows. I think Nick would enjoy that but there's a serious lack of snow plows here in California. Go figure.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Hapde Burfday!
(a ride in a snowplow sounds great. We were just dreaming of snowplows in the car a few days ago.)
I saw that book! At a thrift shop! My hubby and I looked through it and I tell you I was convinced as well! lol!
What a cool snow plow guy!
Dragons MUST be real, after all, we found Dragonology in the non-fiction section of our library!
