Summer days and ring baskets.

Recently, I revisited my ring basket obsession. They're nice to work on because once I get one started I can work on it from practically anywhere in the house and it doesn't take a lot of concentration. In the photo this one looks a little blue, but it's actually more purple. It has chartreuse flowers with pink centers. I love how it turned out.

For some reason, to me, it seems slightly Victorian.

As you can see, my Black-eyed Susans are blooming. They're such a bright pop of color in front of our grey house. Lovely.

Busy, busy weekend ahead. Mark and I are hoping to see Harry Potter.

We're also going to a Cubs game tomorrow. N. is in love with the Cubbies right now. They were the first team he saw play in person. He has no idea what's going on during the game. He likes to go for the peanuts, cotton candy, trip to Chicago, and the usual visit to my brother's family who close to Wrigley.

Life doesn't get much better than that.

Christina - hi - I took the class at NanC's last weekend and really enjoyed Melanie and the project. NanC has a few nice projects that I'd love to take, but I can't afford to go back - gas, hotel, beads, oh my...Perhaps you can take them???? One is a peyote ruffle with embellishment at the bottom and the other is a spiral right angle weave bracelet.
I like your ring baskets. I made one that I keep paperclips in, not quite as nice as rings.

This is adorable..and so cute with it sitting on the flower! I don't bead weave...but would love to make a little basket. I used to make those brick stitch earrings with the dangles when I was young. I've totally forgotten how it's been so long. I love your birdie collection too!

Lovely pictures! My BES are blooming as well. I love the ring basket but I suppose you could use them for anything!

That basket is super cute.

I've actually been to a Cubbies game myself. When I worked for Disneyland, they sent me to Chicago a couple times for an event. On one of those trips I just had to go to a game, it was great fun.

That's a really cute basket. My daughter would love one with daisies on it. I've got a magazine or book somewhere with instructions for baskets like these. Now where is it? How many mags will I go through to find it? If I didn't keep up with the blogs I'd have the time to look! And maybe time to bead too.
