Button flowers.

I needed to show you something bright and colorful today to offset the cold, drab weather. My mom made me this button flower bouquet out of button that were on my clothes as a kid, and some that were on her clothing back then as well. So not only is it fun and bright, but it holds special memories as well.

I remember loving that bicycle button. I like the flower she made in the foreground of this photo with the red button and silver-ish center. And also the multi-colored long stem of button flowers.

I hope your week is bright and cheerful!

Very nice.

My grandmother made a quilt using leftover scraps of fabric from clothes that she made for the family.

I love these creative ways to preserve memories : )

Wow, this is so pretty! And, how special that it holds sentimental value, as well.

What a great idea for repurposing those buttons! Very thoughtful and cheery, too.

This is awesome! What a fun and cheery way to keep memories.. rather then boxed up for no one to enjoy.

I have this quilt..when I was a senior in highschool I made this new best friend, Inez..everytime I went to her house I saw her grandmother working on a quilt. I would just say hi to her grandma but no much else as she was always in her room. One day her grandmother gave me that quilt she was working on! And it was full of material from her life and grandkids lives..I don't know why she gave it to me..but to this day even though I am not in contact with that friend, and even though the blanket is falling apart I cannot get rid of it. It's so special.
