Books.

I am often drawn to books with pretty covers. I found this one in an antique shop. I don't know if I'll ever read it, but I have it out where I can admire its cover often.

I signed up for the summer reading club at my library. While browsing the stacks I picked up this one because of the lovely cover. It was a great summer read.

And I've recently discovered a Japanese market that also includes a book store. Oh no! That's dangerous! This was my first purchase.

Lots of crystals and beadweaving. Can't wait to try some patterns in it.

What's on your summer reading list?

My local college just had their annual used book sale. I picked up an old edition of a Pearl S. Buck book I haven't read yet, Eat.Pray.Love, and 2 Oprah book club books that I thought were interesting before they were 'club' books. I am terrible at remembering titles and authors so forgive me on the lack of details! And, I finally opened up the raspberry jam you sent me. It is sooo good. Sometimes you think jam is jam, but this wasn't overly sweet and the flavor really was pure. Loved it. I served it on top of a slice of lemon pound cake that I snacked on while I drank a cup of tea this afternoon when I got home from work. A perfect rainy day snack. :)

I scanned some photos of the projects to include with this post, but the scans were really grainy looking. I'll have to see if I can photograph some pages. :)

Those are all beautiful book covers! I especially love the first one -- there's something wonderful about old books, and even better when they're pretty.

Not sure what I'll be reading this Summer. I just finished "The Somnambulist" by Johnathon Barnes, and "Death by Black Hole" by Neil DeGrasse Tyson. Oh, I want to pick up "The City" by China Mieville. Haven't decided if I'll be patient and wait for paperback or not...
