Yesterday I went to a thrift store and an antique mall looking for some ornate frames that I could paint and hang in a grouping. I saw a lot of frames I liked, but didn't find any prices I liked. The search is still on.
I did, however come across a mirror that I really liked. I liked the price, too, so it came home with me. My original intention was to paint the frame of the mirror white and to hang it either in my hallway or family room. But, as I was unwrapping it in the foyer, I thought I might like it there.
Now I'm thinking that, other than cleaning it up a bit, I will leave the finish on it as is.
I'm still trying to decide if this is where I want to leave it. I had another mirror hanging in this spot previously that was a gift from my mom. I would like to move that one to the office, but that would mean moving Mark's Beatles picture.
Right now it's the only room in the house where he's hung a picture that he likes on the wall, so I don't want to take it down.
Mark and N. are at the beach, so this would be a good time to look around the house with an eye for rearranging.

Sweeeeet!!!!
I love that frame!! Do you know what kind of wood it is and how old it might be? It looks like it's in a good condition. I can imagine it white, but the current color is also very nice - very majestic and rich!
I read your older posts the other night and I just must say that you have an eye for finding those special pieces with unique character ans style. I always enjoy reading about your new finds and also about the jewelry and things you make yourself.
I agree - you have a good eye for finding treasures!
Enjoy having the house to yourself for awhile today : )
Oooh, it does look good on that wall. What pretty colors you've chosen. I agree with you on the Beatles picture. Best to let him have it.
another super cool find! I hope you find a place to rearange without having to move your hubby's pic. I hate the beatles personally ..but his pic looks pretty cool up there on the burgundy wall.
